Mrs Care was working for the A.T.S. at Earl's Croome when she met and eventually married Sgt. Care - hers is one of the happy stories!

In Worcester there was formed an Anglo-American Fellowship - in 1944

and in 1944 the Manager of the Worcester Theatre wrote a

letter of appreciation to Mr Care's father over his son, gthe then Cpl. Joseph C. Care

Part of their courting was done in Tewkesbury:

they remembered the Sabrina Cinema with its 'little tea room'  and

the adverts for gardening: 'Everything in the garden is rosy' was their signal to evade the censor!

and for her extravagant wedding reception?
