Buses would pick the girls up somewhere in town and transport them to the camp for the dances and then back to town afterwards. She also tells stories of some of the girls that worked at the ROF, many being from Ireland who were an especially tough crowd. These are tales me and my brothers grew up hearing. I have often thought many would make great Hollywood screenplays. My mom refers to these years as the "good old bad old days" given the circumstances of the times.

My mom is 88 years of age with diminishing short term memory, but her recall of years past, especially the war years is excellent and she loves to relive those times.
