followed through after St. Lo breakthrough; arriving at Le Mans where "we were quartered in buildings for the first time in several months".
5-8 September, 1944
Arrived Bois de Vincennes, Paris
cigarettes $5 per pack. "The Paris women 'Oah La La'. Never again will it be as it was then". Sight-seeing trips but no maintenance.
8-30 September 1944
Coulommiers, (due east of Paris, SW of Reims) in an open field along the 'Red Ball Route'. "A tiring experience" as had only 72 hours for longest truck repair. "This unit proved itself .... and was never caught short handed. " Too rainy to work in field.
